Submissions to Council
Residents deserve candidates who do more than identify problems. They deserve representatives who read the documents, ask practical questions and are prepared to speak directly to Council.
Below are selected submissions and presentations I have made to Richmond Hill Council on transparency, responsible spending, municipal priorities and public accountability.
Presentation to Council Regarding a Lobbyist Registry
This presentation supported the establishment of a municipal lobbyist registry to improve transparency, accountability and public confidence in local government.
The deputation begins at approximately the 3:00 mark and concludes at 7:08.
Submission Regarding Member of Council Expense Policy Review
This submission recommended removing taxpayer-funded website and social media spending as an allowable councillor expense, noting that the City already provides official webpages and communication channels.
Submission Regarding AED Registration Motion
This submission supported AED awareness while raising practical concerns about enforceability, administrative burden, and the importance of keeping participation voluntary and education-based.
Submission Regarding Plant-Based Treaty Initiative
This submission raised concerns about municipal jurisdiction, Council priorities, and the importance of focusing City resources on local responsibilities and resident safety.
Submission Regarding Elect Respect Motion
This submission addressed the need to balance respectful public discourse with transparency, fact-checking and democratic accountability.
Submission Regarding Disc Golf Opportunities and City Spending Priorities
This submission supported exploring new recreational opportunities while urging Council to consider long-term costs, financial pressures and responsible stewardship of public resources before creating new commitments.
